Review Summary:

We emptied the plate of satay bee hoon without leaving any trace of food behind, perhaps this is the best way to show our strong endorsement to the stall of this beautifully created delicacy, and we know many will concur to our testimonial scrutinized by the never ending queue.

The queue was not moving faster than the crawling of a snail, unfortunately we were not the first few but almost at the end of the long long queue, in our heart, the food better be up to some standard or else we would probably hold the stall culpable for the time wasted in waiting and the suffer of the rumbling stomach!

My patience was running low; I stick out of my head as tall as the giraffe to peek into the stall, trying to find out what was going there in the small enclosure that took ages to move the queue. What I can see was an uncle skilfully manoeuvring of his swift movement in all directions busy like a bee to churn out plate after plate of mouth watering satay bee hoon. He was sweating profusely and no other helper in sight to shoulder his burden; obviously, he was a lone ranger trying to cook, prepare the ingredients, act as the casher and entertaining the never ending queue…poor uncle.

The plate of satay bee hoon finally served, it was a sizable plate of bee hoon topped with satay gravy that covered every inch of the bee hoon underneath. “Very Good!” was our first reaction on the thick satay gravy, generous portion of the gravy was fantastically savoury, the creamy gravy embedded tinge of sweetness to allow you enjoy the subtle flavour of peanut and satay and making it so appealing. The glossy thick satay gravy was not being cloying and made a good contrast to the soft smoothness of the bee hoon, a truly zestful taste created by the master chef.

The pork, tau pok (dried beancurd) and kang kong were fresh and cooked to the perfect texture, every mouthful was simply mesmerizing and the ardent desire for craving more.
