1.5 hour of queueing time, no joke for this 2016 Michelin one star Singapore winner. The owner could never be more elated with this piece of good news.

Spanning two generations and over 60 years, Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle has received many flavourable accolades and the award of Michelin undoubtedly take the fame of the the stall to the pinnacle.

Before the popular stall was crowned with the Michelin star, there is already few cloned stalls trying to imitate Tai Hwa Pork Noodle, however, there is one and only one at the current location so not be confused with the rest.

The mee pok was served in a big bowl, bigger than those ordinary bowl at almost double the size, there was plenty of ingredients went into bowl, pig liver, pork belly slices, pork minced meat, pork balls, sole fish, dumpling, seaweed. All ingredients were as fresh as it can be, the liver, pork slice etc were cooked to the right texture, nothing can be faulted indeed.

The seasoning was fairly balanced, the slight vinegary taste blended well with the chili sauce, added lard oil takes the flavour to the next higher level. There is a small snag with the chili sauce, the chili was unfortunately kind of ordinary in taste and not able to heighten the overall satisfaction to attain the dominance level.

The kway teow soup was packed with the same ingredients as the mee pok, the rich and potent broth was infused with the essence of goodness from those ingredients added and meticulously prepared broth.

The Michelin one star awarded to Hill Street Tai Hwa Pork Noodle signifying the endorsement of a well deserved hawker food for its impeccable food quality. The 1.5 hours queue was a tab too excessive and perhaps you should wait for the heat to cold down before the visit.
