We have been here many times in the past but this is the first time we tried Hwa Kee Barbeque Pork Noodle, the stall offers both noodle and rice, however, it is the wanton mee that are raved about and naturally be our chocie.

My son was queuing for the food and he decided to pamper himself with the biggest serving of wanton mee that comes with a $6 price tag, he was expecting a plate of noodle with triple the noodle size but haha…turned out to be same size of noodle as per the $4 serving but triple the size of char siew meat which is not his favorite!

The char siew was charcoal grilled and thinly shredded; the char siew has a tinge of sweetness from the sweet bbq sauce and practically no fat at all. It may be a little dry but overall still a good char siew meat.

The seasoning went into the noodle was good and never failed to showcase a good wanton mee, the sauce complement well the noodle and we asked for extra chili just to give it more zest to the taste.

Noodle texture was slightly towards the soft side but not the result from overcooking of the noodle, we think it could be the way how the noodle was manufactured and not the problem with the cook.

The soup was too sweet in our opinion and we don’t really appreciate the sugary broth.
