Cafe review: On The Table @ Pasir Panjang

On the Table 1

On The Table is the twin of the popular Lola cafe at Kovin. Serving fairly similar food menu but in a much spacious and more sitting capacity. Good things about On The Table@Pasir Panjang is the much shorter waiting time and no snaking queue compared to the Lola cafe @ Kovan.

Fries with Truffle Mayo $8

On the Table 5

The fries was good, crisp on exterior, meaty potatoes and fluffy internally, the Truffle Mayo gave the fries a good complement to the overall taste. A good side order to start the meal.

Crispy Honey Wings $10

On the Table 8

It is the house signature snack, the deep-fried mid-wing has a nice crispy skin with juicy and tender meat. Texture was very good for the wings but flavour may not be the top notch, however, the drizzle of honey and sprinkled of chilli powder did help to lift up the overall flavour. A finger food still worth the bites.

On the Table 7

Pulled Pork Sanger $15

On the Table 6

The 6 hours smoked pulled pork cannot hold the candle to those gone through the 12 hours process. Texture was not refine and the heavy reliance on chipotle mayo for the sourness predominantly overshadowed the flavoured pulled pork. A real good pulled pork sanger should have well balanced of flavour and should not be masked by just the sourness.

Ultimate Croissant $14

On the Table 9

The butter croissant was served with honey glazed bacon, ham, honey mayo, scrambled eggs chaddar cheese and mesclun salad. Fairly ordinary items but reasonably good standard overall for the price you paid.

Truffle Mushroom Linguine $14

On the Table 3

Truffle Mushroom Linguine consists of Truffle mushroom bechamel, onion, cream sauce, linguine and parmesan cheese. It was creamy and very rich, can be cloying after few mouthfuls.

On the Table 4

The intensity of the overall flavour went into the bowl of Linguine somehow more on the tame side, it just wouldn’t leave you with any impression, neither good nor bad.

Waffle with ice cream (2 scoops) $10

On the Table 10

The waffle was fluffy but not as flavourful as what we expect, it has to rely on the ice cream and the honey to excite the taste buds.
