Chir Chir @ Somerset
Chir Chir (pronounced Chi-Re Chi-Re) South Korea’s largest chain of restaurants, known for its signature Korean chicken dishes has found its way into Singapore.
Chir Chir’s popularity can be attributed to its delectable menu centered on the great-tasting twist to the chicken craze. The use of fresh chicken and innovative into creating unique flavour and seasoning proven well received by many.
Price ranged from $24.90 to $32.90 for the chicken meals and is considered more on the high side, however, the portion served is relatively huge, each portion can be shared by two to three persons. Other items on the menu include seafood soup and salads.
Chir Chir Kkanpung King Chicken $28.90
It is closely resemble the typical Kongbao chicken, what amazed us is the impeachable pairing of the Kongbao sauce and the tender chicken piece. The mildly spiced coating when caramelized produced a tantalizing flavour that make you yell for more.
Garlicky Roasted Chicken $28.90
Besides the juicy and tenderly chicken, the garlicky flavoured chicken was additive, it features a stunning soy garlic that blended very well with the chicken.
Mac & Cheese $9.90
Not the chicken lover? There are salad,, seafood soup and pasta to make up for it. The macaroni and cheese was creamy, cheesy and easily feel cloying after few mouthful. If you are the cheese lover, you will likely to enjoy it.
Chir Chir Cheese Fries $9.90
Ordinary fries to munch as a snack.
Blue Marine Tok Tok $14.90
Not sure why all the drink end with “Tok Tok”? The jar of drink is good for two persons and the waitress will showcase how she muddle the mixing of the drink in front of us. The colour is aesthetically pleasing but the soda base drink was nothing extraordinary.
Chir Chir Verdict :
Featuring chicken adorned with lusciously sauce and coating, the salivating birds were given the needed twist to receive the full endorsement from us. Be it the Chir Chir Kkanpung King Chicken or Garlicky roasted chicken, we love it the way it was presented.
The price may be a tad pricy but the huge serving size is targeting for bigger group and definitely not for the lone ranger. Unless you have a big capacity, it is not easy to swallow the bird.
