KL Delight Seafood Restaurant @ Geylang – KL 新天海鲜
KL Delight Seafood focuses on authentic KL seafood and showcase the unique flavours of Kuala Lumpur zi char. KL Delight Seafood is not a newbie in the food arena, it started with its old establishment in the Coffeeshop at Toa Payoh Lorong 4. Since 2016, KL Delight Seafood decided to move to an air-conditioned restaurant along Geylang Lorong 27 to provide the diners with a more comfortable dining experience.
The new restaurant is clean with ample space to accommodate groups of different sizes.
KL Kampung Fried Rice $6/9/13
“Wow…nice.” This was the first expression when my son had his first spoonful of the KL Kampung Fried Rice. The fried rice was packed with charred flavour, we especially love the crispy and flavourful roasted meat, it was just mouth-watering. The added salted fish elevated the overall flavour and a dish one should not missed.
KL Hokkien Noodle $6/9/13
We are not so much a fan of KL Hokkien mee and have not tasted a real good KL Hokkien mee in Singapore so far, however, the Hokkien mee here was surprisingly good, from the texture of the noodle to the perfect sweetness and the hint of savoury from the copious of pork lard added. Another nice dish for the fan of KL Hokkien mee.
Stir-fried Qing Long Cai with Honshimeiji Mushrooms $14/20/28
Qing Long Cai is getting more and more popular in Singapore with its sweet, fragrance and pleasing texture, one of our favourite veggies and KL Delight Seafood has not failed us.
Wok-fried Diced Chicken with salted Egg Yolk $12/18/24
From the countless of salted egg diced chicken dishes we had tried so far, this is the second time we truly fallen in love with it, the salted egg chicken smothered with the use of genuine salted egg, the heavenly flavour of the yellow mashed lava instantly make your eyeball rolling and unanimously feel like a heavenly thing. Highly recommended.
Coffee Pork Rib
A new dish yet to be added into the menu. The pork ribs were meaty and tender, every inch of the meat was infused with the coffee aroma.
Wok-fried Mantis Prawn with Minced Garlic and Chili Powder $20/30/40
An unique creation dish that hard to find locally, the Mantis prawns was wok-fried with minced garlic and chili powder that was extremely addictive.
Nyonya Assam Sea bass
Fresh sea bass cooked in the Nyonya Assam style, it is a potent combination of spiciness , sourness and hints of sweetness with its umami flavours that can be found in this neat homey dish.
Wok fried crab with spices in “Malaysia Kam Heong” style
KL Seafood Delight offers many cooking versions of crabs, we decided to try something different and opted the Malaysia Kam Heong crabs. Kam Heong literally translated to “sweet and fragrance”, the seasoning was slightly on the sweet side with hints of spiciness and savouriness from the dried shrimp and other ingredients. If you are bored with the black pepper crab, Kam Heong crabs may be a good alternative.
La La Mee Hoon
KL Delight Seafood uses big premium la la for the mee hoon, the sweetness of the La La meld together with the stock intensified the flavour and the result is a salivating dish that highly satisfying.
Our verdict on KL Delight Seafood
At KL Delight Seafood, you’ll find unique and different flavours of Kuala Lumpur zi char created by the Malaysian chefs. It is a good balanced combination of soul foods and the mantra of impressing the diners with its flavourful delicacies.
