Loo’s Hainanese Curry Rice Review – Just delicious
It takes three days to prepare the curry. That is the claim from Loo’s Hainanese Curry Rice.
Located in the coffeeshop of the Tiong Bahru area near to the popular Tiong Bahru Food Centre, Loo’s Hainanese Curry Rice has made themselves a name to be one of the best Hainanese Curry Rice in Sinagpore.
The chopping knife has never seen to pause for a minute cutting plates of pork chop, cuttlefish and braised meat flowing in from the snaking queue. Various types of gravy from the cooked dishes sloshed all over the display counter, messy? But isn’t that a good indication a real good Hainanese curry rice stall should be?
$37.5 for the 7 dishes, reasonable price though.
Dining at any of the Hainanese Curry Rice stall, the curry has to take the precedence over and above all, if the curry failed to please the tastebuds, how good the accompanying dishes are just frivolous.
We have to agree the 3 days work on the curry is evident with the curry doused over the rice. Tangy and nice aroma with hints of spiciness, five of us fully endorsed the good standard of the curry.
We ordered a good variety of dishes and most of the were pleasantly good.
We were too late to stop the drenching of our pork chop with the tomatoes sauce. Truth enough the sauce spoiled the crispiness of the coating and ruined the overall taste, otherwise, the meat was tender and nice.
Flavourful and delicious.
The curry vegetable was mild in the taste and not as rich as the curry gravy that doused over the rice. Cabbage was soft but prefer a more robust flavour with the curry.
Braised Tau Pok
The thick sauce found it way into every inch of the Spongy Tau Pok, sodium contain may be high but a savoury dish complement well the rice.
Stir fried beansprouts
The only dish that was not well accepted by us, beansprouts was way undercooked and the taste of eating raw veggies definitely not easy for the taste buds.
Almost a must order dish for us when eating Hainanese rice. We like the softness and the hint of sweetness from the cabbage, which was best eating with the curry rice.
Truth enough to live up to be one of their signature dishes here. Tender with bites of chewiness, the chilli cuttlefish was salivating and highly recommended though some compromises are needed on the cholesterol.
The eggs were fried till partially charred, some like the charred flavour but some dislike the bitterness of the burnt taste.
