Pontini Italian Restaurant | Grand Copthorne Waterfront Hotel
When we first stepped into the restaurant, what welcoming us was a room specially dedicated to different cheeses imported from Italy.
Cheese – an inevitable part of Italian cuisine with array of assortments were prominently showcased to lure your appetite, Fontina, Provolone Doice, Sweet Gorgonzola, Asiago and many others from the light aroma of nutty and sweet to the full-flavoured of buttery and funky.
You can pair the cheese with various condiments, from fruit jams to nuts or biscuits. Cheese lover? You will be salivating in this cheesy room.
A good session of savoury cheeses was followed by the light buffet over the counter.
From various cold cut ham to the Italian salad, flavoursome soup and the seafood. but nothing beats the pan fried Foie gras, the temptation of the rich and buttery French delicacy was too compelling to neglect, damn the cholesterol saturated fatty chuck and just eat it out of the heart.
The varieties on the table top already enough to pack your gastronomic to a state of indigestion but this was only the transition to the real Antipasti buffet, take the pick of the Barramundi fillet, Tuscany seafood pot, NZ lamb rack, Braised short ribs or roasted spring chicken.

Pontini patriotic to Italy never be a letdown with the authentic Italian pizza, every ingredient gone into the pizza and toppings are imported from pizza’s birthplace, its authenticity not be spared to include the water went into making the dough, the yeast was quenched with Italy sky juice that needed to make a real Italian pizza alive! At Pontini, there is nothing to define the need to follow the protocol on the menu, be it the pizza toppings, the choice of pasta and the pairing condiments, create your own Italian cuisine and devour with its relish.
In our euphoria, nothing complete without indulging oneself with the delectable desserts, tucked into the sweetie with gusto could never be more inspiring, though at the expense of stretching the tummy to the limit.
