Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King Matsuri serves familiar ramen favourites along with new creations based on the Japanese Matsuri theme. Part of the Keisuke group and one of the popular ramen restaurants in Singapore, the restaurant provides free flow bean sprouts and hard-boiled eggs as part of the deal.

Ramen Tonkotsu 13.9

Fairly standard Tonkotsu broth ramen.

Ramen Sanjya 15.9

tonkotsu-king-matsuri-2

Tonkotsu Ramen Sanjya features three different types of spices to get the taste buds tingling. The red, green and black spicy sauce blended fairly well with the Tonkotsu broth, both creamy and compelling and was embraced with nods from all of us.

Ramen Awaodori 13.9

tonkotsu-king-matsuri-5

Tokushima style ramen with pork Sukiyaki and raw egg yolk. Sweetness dominates the taste instead of the savoury or spicy Tonkotsu broth we are used to, you can easily feel it get cloying just after a few mouthfuls of the noodles. Definitely not something to our liking.

Ramen Yuki Matsuri 15.9

Miso Tonkotsu ramen with powder cheese. The cheese boosted the already flavour-rich broth, the luscious cheesy bowl of ramen was a little too much for us and got cloying before we can empty the bowl.

Nanban with Tartar sauce 9

Nanban is a classic fried chicken from Southern Japan, the flavours blend beautifully in each of the bites. The chunk of meat is stunningly tender and a dip of the Tartar sauce went well with the chicken. Do not miss it in your order.

Gyoza 10pcs 10

Thin gyoza skin, juicy and tasty, it perfectly embodies the invigorating in the mouth thrill of a good gyoza. Must try.

Our verdict on RAMEN KEISUKE TONKOTSU KING – MATSURI

Out of the four types of ramen we tried at Ramen Keisuke Tonkotsu King Matsuri, only the Sanjya ramen stood out. Maybe the spiciness helped to heighten the flavour but the rest just couldn’t excite our taste buds too much. However, the Gyoza and Nanban both are top-notch here and worth to try.
