Taiwan Day 7 – Taipei Michelin 1 star Din Tai Fung 鼎泰丰
After a week of hectic and enjoyable trip, it was time to bid farewell to this lovely island. Travelled from the south to the north, so much of good food, the captivating and mesmerising moment in many of the places, it is simply rewarding and fulfilling.
Before we headed for the airport, our last itinerary was to taste the authentic original Michelin one-star Din Tai Fung 鼎泰丰restaurant at the Taipei Xinyi Road.
Xiao Long Bao 小籠包
Din Tai Fung is well-known for its xiaolongbao (小籠包). The juicy meat filling was wrapped in a masterfully pleated and twisted dough skin. This is one of the best Xiao Long Pao we even came across and a testimony to its worth.
Special Braised Beef Noodle Soup with Beef Brisket 红烧牛肉汤面
The tenderness and juiciness of the beef slice and the fine texture noodles were fully immersed in the succulent bowl of savoury soup, a hearty meal for a cool weather.
Steamed yam bun芋泥小笼包
Premium yams are finely mashed, wrapped in the lovely and fine dough skin, the unpretentious interior comes with perfect sweetness and we love it.
Oriental Salad in Special Dressing 小菜
Popular starter with seaweed, bean curd, chili and black fugus, tossed with dressing to make a great starter.
Cabbage and Sauteed string bean with minced pork卷心菜 / 乾煸四季豆
Both the green was crunchy and sweet, the string bean was cooked with minced pork to add the extra robustness to the dish. In Taiwan, never missed the green here, you can taste the difference and we really fall in love with it.

Looked out the window from the plane, what is the best endorsement for our love of the island? Probably the remarks from our daughter says it all “When can we be back here again?”
