We will wonder could there be information overload that everyone will be fed up and indifference about Tien Tien Chicken Rice. Well, we still have to do our part as a food blogger to share our view.
We went to one of their branches at Bedok and fortunate enough to be the last customer of the day, subsequent customers were turned away by the restaurant even it was still way early to knock off the business for the day. The reason – no more chicken !

The rice was fragrance and fluffy, each grain of the rice was fully impregnated with the aroma of the chicken stock, garlicky and a tad of butter flavour. Though the aromatic of the rice was less intense compared to years back when the rice was more oily with the full blow of chicken essence went into the rice, Tien Tien may have cut down the use of the chicken stock for health reason but overall the rice has retained much of the fragrance.
The chili sauce was pretty good and went well with the chicken. The use of calamansi has helped to enhance the tastefulness of the chili and a good complement to go with the chicken.
The white chicken was fairly tender and retained much of the juices. Thick layer of fat was not obvious; which could be the right supply source of the chicken and the cooking process.
The side orders were quite delicious as well; the cabbage, bean sprouts and pork chop provide variations to the simple chicken dish.
Overall, Tien Tien Chicken Rice is definitely one of the best in Singapore, however, we adamantly think that some of the chicken rice we had tried are not less superior to Tien Tien Chicken Rice. What is your thought?
